JoBeth's Stained Glass

Artists Joanna Lengle and Elizabeth Anderson create their stained glass by hand in Cherokee County NC. Jo and Beth have taken a lot of their inspiration from the Appalachian quilt patterns of the early 1800 and 1900’s. Their stained-glass quilt squares reflect patchwork and patterned quilts such as Friendship Star, Log Cabin, Bear Paw and Geese in Flight.

Jo’s rural Pennsylvanian upbringing contributed to her love of handcrafted items especially the rich quilting history of the Pennsylvanian Dutch heritage. She has a deep appreciation for nature and loves animals of all kinds. She is a veteran, having served her country as an Army nurse in Vietnam.

Beth grew up in rural Alabama with a soft spot for all wildlife, especially birds, cats, and dogs which influence her work today. She was a nurse and aside from her glass work, she does needlepoint for fun and is a self-taught tatter. We carry a variety her tatted bookmarks and Christmas ornaments in the Craft Shop.
